FIGHTING THE BBB.
There’s a reason the BBB of Los Angeles has spent $400,000 in legal fees to keep a current slander case from ever going to trial.  That case is currently on appeal and expected to come up in the next few months.  I would submit to you that the reason the LA BBB is fighting so hard to keep the case from going to trial is that they know their entire operation is a sham.  In the coming weeks we will provide proof of this claim.

But what we’ve also learned is that to fight the Better Business Bureau in civil court is very expensive, very slow and altogether an approach that is not certain to work.   Meanwhile, the frustration with and the complaints against the BBB continue to mount, from both consumer and small business.  One group is upset because the BBB couldn’t help them, the other because the BBB hurt them.   In no uncertain terms, the BBB is guilty of is misleading the consumer and unjustly disrespecting certain businesses.  Again, proof coming in the next few weeks.

In the meantime we suggest the following courses of action as being worth pursuing—if you’re goal is to aggravate the Better Business Bureau.

1. Pass out the flyer that you’ll FIND HERE.   Great places to pass out the flyer are: City Hall, State Capital, Civil Courts, DA Office, BBB Offices, Newspapers, Radio and TV Stations. Send me photos of you (and your group) in action passing out the flyers and I’ll publish them.  As long as you are standing on the sidewalk, you are protected by freedom of speech doctrine.   Include your City, what building you’re at and the date of the flyers.

2. Document attempts you’ve made to get the BBB to get them to change your grade/at least listen to your side of things.  Document every time you lose a sale because of an unjust grade from the BBB.  Take the BBB to small claims court over each such incident.  The anti-SLAPP defense which works so well in civil court can’t be used in small claims court.  And the BBB can’t use their lawyers.  And your legal expenses are miniscule.  Send each BBB conviction to me and I’ll publish it.   (Keep reading this website.  By the time your case comes up you’ll have all the evidence you’ll need.)

3. Sign our petition on this website.

4. Interested in a class action lawsuit?  Lawyers are standing by.  Email your contact information to bbbsuit@ymail.com

5. Search for Goofy Grades.  Send me their BBB report's URL, and I'll be happy to post them.

5. Are you more ruthless and mischievous?   Have a small budget for expenses ($500)?  Email me at editor@bbbroundup.com for some ideas that are even more diabolical.  Strictly legal, extremely easy and very effective.  But hurry, this story is about the break wide open.
Editor's note:  There is a need for a consumer advocacy group that the public can turn to, and it used to be that the Better Business Bureau fulfilled this role adequately.  No longer.  It is obvious the Better Business Bureau does not now, nor ever will have, the resources to fully investigate the four million businesses in their database, much less grade them with any sense of accuracy.  It's an impossible job, and to think otherwise is a mistake that the BBB should acknowledge so they can get back to their reason for existence--protecting the consumer.  There's an old saying, "who will watch the watchers" and it applies here as the BBB has set themselves up to be above the law.  We are simply here to help the Better Business Bureau do a better job so that they may properly serve the consumer, the business community and themselves.  If they refuse to reform, then they must bear the consequences.
