GARY ALMOND TO SPREAD LA BBB "CANCER" TO SACRAMENTO
Gary Almond, for years the "sidekick" to William Mitchell has left the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau.  This should warm the hearts of those Los Angeles business that have had to deal with Mr. Almond who has been described as a "hatchet man," "ruthless and vindictive," and other words not fit for print.

Unfortunately, this is not a sign of the LA BBB doing something for the right reasons.  It's a sign that the 'cancer' that is the LA BBB methods of operation is expanding.  You see, Gary Almond is set to take over the Sacramento Better Business Bureau office.  There is little doubt that he will seek to employ the methods he learned from Mr. Mitchell to grow this vastly underperforming office into a lucrative cash cow.

We hope that current California Attorney General, and soon to be Governor Jerry Brown will take a long hard look at what will be going on right under his nose in the State Capital.

In watching various ABC reports from their investigation into the BBB, it is clear that the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau is the worst offender of the Pay to Play Grading Scandal.  It stands to reason that Sacramento will soon be joining the ranks of the worst BBB franchises.
Editor's note:  There is a need for a consumer advocacy group that the public can turn to, and it used to be that the Better Business Bureau fulfilled this role adequately.  No longer.  It is obvious the Better Business Bureau does not now, nor ever will have, the resources to fully investigate the four million businesses in their database, much less grade them with any sense of accuracy.  It's an impossible job, and to think otherwise is a mistake that the BBB should acknowledge so they can get back to their reason for existence--protecting the consumer.  There's an old saying, "who will watch the watchers" and it applies here as the BBB has set themselves up to be above the law.  We are simply here to help the Better Business Bureau do a better job so that they may properly serve the consumer, the business community and themselves.  If they refuse to reform, then they must bear the consequences.
